BAE Systems Astute class submarine naming ceremonies.
The hull of the first of class, nuclear powered submarine Astute was completed in 2006 and launched on 8 June 2007 by the Duchess of Cornwall. Since then there have been three further boats Ambush, Artful and Audacious have been rolled out.
Working with BAEs main contractor Comtec Live of Manchester, Prism have designed and supplied a series of self-climbing ground-support structures to enhance each ceremony, enclosing an invited audience in a theatre style blackout before an opening reveal on cue.
